“A musician must make music, an artist must paint, a poet must write, if he is to be ultimately at peace with himself. What a man can be, he must be.” ~Abraham Maslow

Chris Luke is a writer and music industry veteran with a knack for creating alluring, cinematic worlds through song. Chris is both introverted and open-hearted, with wildly diverse tastes and talent, backed by a successful career history penning sync hits for major TV shows and movies.

Chris started playing and writing music at eight years old, started playing in bands at 14, then further cutting his teeth playing covers around the Cleveland music scene in his early 20’s, adding his own original songs to the lineup, developing a substantial catalog of alternative rock and pop songs. This ultimately led to being signed to a multi-year publishing deal with Rondor Music International (now Universal Music Group). His single “Reptile” caught the attention of producers from the hit TV series Beverly Hills 90210 and was featured in the show’s first seasons episode 11 titled “BYOB”. In preproduction for the second season of the show, the producers loved Chris’ latest song “I Don’t Get Much Sleep Anymore” so much, they decided to write a scene around it, highlighting the romance between the characters Dylan and Brenda. On 25 July 1991, “Summer Storm” aired, becoming the highest rated episode in the show’s short history.

This success lead to a long list of tracks being featured in both TV and film, including the Aaron Spelling series Robin’s Hoods, Australian series Paradise Beach, and ABC’s McKenna. Chris also co-wrote and co-performed the song “I Want to Believe in You” with Paul Fayrewether, which is featured in the 2021 film and soundtrack from “The Girl Who Believes in Miracles” starring Mira Sorvino and Kevin Sorbo.

After the commercial success of his early work, Chris took a long break from performing music to pursue new creative outlets and expand his artistic output including his life-long love of film. Working with writing/producing partner Travis Lively, in 2014 they developed and executive-produced the groundbreaking CNN documentary about transgender Navy SEAL Kristen Beck titled “Lady Valor: The Kristen Beck Story”. In 2018, the pair co-wrote the captivating action/drama film “The Ambassador's Wife”, which is currently making its way through the studios. Chris recently finished writing the film “Maximum Speed”, which will begin production & principal photography in March 2022.

Now returning to his primary passion—making music—Chris is poised to release his first original single in over 2 decades. Set for release October 2021, “Love’s Big Machine” pulses with raw energy and real, human heart. The genre-defying single, written, recorded, and produced by Chris with producing partner Thomas Bailey (Maxeen, Delcroy), is both cacophonous and subdued. The lyrics celebrate the endless tumble of modern life , exploring themes of connection and isolation, with love as the driving force at the center. Part soundscape, part alt-rock-epic, “Love’s Big Machine” blends beauty and chaos in a unique, radio-friendly rock anthem. The track also showcases Chris’s dedication to the craft of songwriting, a talent he continued to hone throughout his break from performing: “Writing is always at the core of my work. I’m a writer more than anything else. I love the process of digging into a story, and I love what a song is. For me, they’re a way of exploring life.”
